Junior School Music
The music program at Waverley College Junior School is extensive and varied. We provide many opportunities for students to engage in musical expressions, including the Cantores award-winning boys choir.
The boys have two music lessons timetabled into their weekly programme as well as the opportunity to be involved in more intensive programmes including:
- The Junior School String Ensemble
- The Junior School Concert Band
- A dedicated Percussion Group
- Cantores
- Junior School Choir.
Each class in the Junior School are involved in a general instrumental program.
- Year 5 – Strings
- Year 6 – Brass
The boys are also given the opportunity to have private music lessons of the instrument of their own choice including:
- Guitar
- Drums
- Piano
- Violin
- Trumpet
- Saxophone
The Performing Arts Centre, located on the Senior School Campus, not only allows a venue for practice but also enables us to conduct a number of wonderful performances throughout the year including:
- College Music Festival (usually held in June)
- Junior Music Festival (usually held in November)
