Music students feature at Anzac Day ceremonies

Malcolm Turnbull, Prime Minister

Prime Minister & Member for Wentworth Malcolm Turnbull with bugler Alex Michaux. Alex performed the Last Post at the Waverley Cemetery Special Service.

Music students were heavily involved in this year’s numerous ceremonies for the Centenary of ANZAC Day. Buglers were in great demand to play the Last Post and Reveille at various functions and one cannot underestimate the daunting task of performing these pieces, solo, before a large audience. Special congratulations to our buglers, Eric Cordato, Flynn Schulz and Alex Michaux.

As members of the College Cadet Band under Drum Major, Elliot Oliver, they performed at the school ceremonies on the Friday before ANZAC Day and in the city march on the Saturday. Alex also performed the Last Post at the Waverley Council and Friends of Waverley Cemetery, Special Service at the Waverley Cemetery. He is pictured with with Minister for Communication, Malcolm Turnbull MP, Member for Wentworth.

On Saturday morning, Alex Michaux, Jamie McCarthy and Flynn Schulz performed at the Dawn Service at Coogee Beach with Bondi Brass. All members of the band are to be congratulated on their extraordinary contributions to Waverley College and their community on the occasion of Anzac Day, 2015.
