Enrolling Your Son

Thank You for Considering Waverley College for Your Son’s Education

At Waverley, we understand how important it is to choose the right school for your son. That’s why we recommend that you attend an Open Day or take a tour so you and your son can experience the College together.

If you have any questions about our enrolment process, we encourage you to speak to our Registrar, who can help inform your decision, by completing the enquiry form at the bottom of this page.

Admissions Criteria

We do not assess applicants on a first come first serve basis. When considering your son we look at the ‘whole person’ and identify applicants who are best suited to the College’s holistic approach to schooling. In the event that demand for places exceeds the number of places available, some applicants may not be invited to interview.

We take the following into consideration when deciding whether to offer your son a place:

  • Academic interests and achievements
  • Co-Curricular interests and achievements
  • Community leadership
  • The desire to provide access to those who may/could not otherwise seek enrolment
  • The faith and beliefs of the student and parents and carers
  • Acceptance of, and commitment to, the ethos and goals of Waverley College
  • Family connections, including existing siblings and Old Boys
  • The outcome of the interview process with the Principal or chosen delegate

Stage 2.

Visit the College

Attending an Open Day is an excellent opportunity to tour the College, and meet our Principal and senior teaching staff.

Tours are conducted by students who will share their College experiences with you and answer any questions you may have about what it means to be a Waverley student.

Stage 3.

Admission and Interview

We will contact you about the next step in the process.

The admission process takes place up to two years prior to your son’s commencement date.

At this stage, you and your son may be invited to attend an interview.

Stage 4.

Offer and Acceptance

You will be advised of the outcome of your son’s application.

If successful, your son’s place is secured by completing the Confirmation of Enrolment. This includes payment of the $3,500 admission fee.

If your son is not offered a place at this stage, he will be added to our waitlist.

Stage 5.

Welcome to Waverley!

You will receive an invitation to Orientation Day and all the essential information that you require prior to commencing.

We look forward to welcoming you to the Waverley College community.

Please be aware that some applicants may miss out due to demand for places exceeding places available.

International Students

We welcome applications from students of all nationalities. However, the College is not CRICOS registered. This means that we are unable to enrol full fee-paying overseas students with temporary subclass 571 visas.

Enrolment is primarily restricted to Australian citizens and permanent residents, but dependents of a temporary visa holder can also enrol. In this instance, the College will determine whether domestic or international student fees apply. The decision is based on the student’s eligibility for Government funding.
