As we draw closer to the end of what has been a great term, it’s wonderful to reflect on the outstanding efforts and achievements of our Junior School students. This week, in particular, has been a testament to their dedication, the commitment of our staff, and the vibrant spirit that makes our school such a special place.

A particular highlight was our Year 5 students sharing their speeches for House Captain and Vice Captain voting. They spoke of their leadership qualities, their passion for their Houses and their alignment to our school values. Thank you to our Heads of House from the Senior School who joined for these speeches, and well done to the nominees for having the courage to speak and challenge yourself.

We are seeing a strong finish across all year levels, with students maintaining their focus and enthusiasm right up to the final lessons. This is exactly what we mean by upholding high expectations, not just in academic pursuits, but in every aspect of school life. Our young learners have continued to engage actively in their studies, embracing new challenges and consolidating their knowledge with admirable resilience.

A part of this success is having high expectations of respectful behaviour shown by our students towards their peers and teachers.

As we head into the final days, we also want to give a reminder about our uniform expectations. A smart and well-presented appearance contributes to a sense of pride and belonging within our college community. Please ensure shirts are neatly tucked in, ties are worn correctly, and that the “college cut” hair standard is maintained. These small details make a big difference in presenting a united and polished front as we complete the term.

Looking ahead, we are excited for a positive end to the term for all our students. It is a special week for our Year 6 students in particular as they participate in their Year 6 Graduation Mass and Raging Waters excursion. We encourage everyone to finish strong, reflect on their growth, and look forward to a well-deserved break. We are incredibly proud of each and every one of our Junior School students and the journey they have undertaken this term.

Step Up, Speak Out

This morning, four of our Waverley Junior School Green House students joined the Year 12 cohort and staff to walk from High Cross Park, down to Grant Reserve, Coogee to raise awareness about domestic violence and ask everyone to stand up and say no to domestic violence. The annual walk is organised by NSW Police Eastern Beaches Local Area Command and Randwick City Council with support from the SES and the Juniors. Thank you to Luke Burns for walking with our students, and Lachlan Drew-Morris for organising this opportunity for our students.

Presentation Day – Tuesday 2 December

We are looking forward to celebrating our achievements in 2025 as a College community at our Presentation Day events on Tuesday 2 December 2025. Please refer to the correspondence sent via email today.

Year 6 Graduation – Wednesday 26 November 2025

Dear Parents and Carers,

You are all invited to the Year 6 Graduation on Wednesday 26 November to acknowledge the end of your son’s primary school years.  Please see the invitation below.

Hampers of Hope

Waverley Junior College is supporting the Hampers of Hope charity drive, based out of Addi Road Community Organisation, Marrickville.  This is an annual initiative that plays a vital role in fostering community spirit and support during the holiday season – providing over 2000+ holiday hampers to a wide variety of disadvantaged members of the community (eg domestic violence, orphanages, fire/flood victims, etc).

To support this important charity we ask students to donate either a 180g block of chocolate (eg Cadburys) or a box of chocolate (eg Cadburys, Lindt, Ferrero Rocher) to be included as a treat in the hampers.  Canned goods are also very appreciated!  Thank you for your generous support and know that you are making a difference at a time disadvantaged community members often find quite difficult.
