2017 NAPLAN Years 5, 7 & 9

Tuesday 9th May 2017 to Thursday 11th May 2017

NAPLAN testing will be conducted over three days for students in Years 5, 7 and 9

Students in Years 3, 5, 7 and 9 sit for the National Assessment Program Literacy and Numeracy (NAPLAN) test in May each year. The assessments are an opportunity for students to demonstrate what they have learned in class.

For students in Years 3 and 5, there are four tests covering numeracy, reading, writing and language conventions (spelling, punctuation and grammar). For students in Years 7 and 9, there are five tests including two tests in numeracy – a calculator allowed test and a non-calculator test.

Year 5 timetable

Tuesday 9th May : Language Conventions (40 minutes); Writing (40 minutes)

Wednesday 10th May : Reading (50 minutes)

Thursday 11th May: Numeracy (50 minutes)

Year 7 timetable

Tuesday 9th May : Periods 1 and 2 – Language Test (45 minutes); Writing Test (40 minutes)

Wednesday 10th May : Periods 1 and 2 – Reading Test (65 minutes)

Thursday 11th May: Periods 1 and 2 – Numeracy Test I (50 minutes); Numeracy Test II (10 minutes)

(Please remember to bring your calculator for Numeracy tests)

 

Year 9 timetable

Tuesday 9th May : Periods 3 and 4 – Language Test (45 minutes); Writing Test (40 minutes)

Wednesday 10th May : Periods 3 and 4 – Reading Test (65 minutes)

Thursday 11th May: Periods 3 and 4 – Numeracy Test I (50 minutes); Numeracy Test II (10 minutes)

(Please remember to bring your calculator for Numeracy tests)

 

 

The NAPLAN test results and the student reports are released in August.
