Feast Day of Edmund Rice
Our Founder’s Day holiday recognises the inspiration work of our founder, Edmund Rice, whose Feast Day falls on 5 May. As a community, we celebrate his life and work on the first Sunday in May through our attendance at the Annual May Procession.
The holiday on the Friday of the long weekend in June acknowledges the commitment of staff, students and parents in attending the May Procession.
We would like to acknowledge the Gadigal people of the Eora nation who are the traditional Custodians of the land on which Waverley College is located. We pay our respects to Elders past, present and emerging. We are committed to honouring Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples’ unique cultural and spiritual connections to the land, waters, seas and sky and their rich contribution to society.
