Year 9 Camp Information Night

All students in Year 9 are expected to attend the Camp information evening for a briefing on the 2018 Camp to be held in September.

Astudents in Year 9 are expected to attend the Camp information evening on Thursday 17 May in the College Gymnasium. The evening will start at 6:30pm with a representative from Somerset providing important information about the camping experiences planned for the next two years.

The 2018 Year 9 Outdoor Learning Program will take place at the Somerset Camping Grounds from Tuesday 4 September (arrival at school by 7:30am) to Friday 7 September (returning to school at 3:00pm). This experience offers a great opportunity for the young men of Waverley to learn outside the classroom, develop strong relationships with peers and take part in adventurous activities. 

The theme for Year 9 camp this year is ‘Stepping up, Stepping out’. Students will be provided more information about this theme by their instructors and teachers when they arrive at the camping grounds. 

Important information: 

1. This year, in an exciting new initiative, Waverley College will be running a Father (Or significant male)/Son component to the camp, which will take place from Friday 7 September – Saturday 8 September. More information will be made available about this event during the camp information evening.
2. Any student requesting an exemption from camp will need to apply directly to their Head of House by Friday 29 June. No refunds will be provided after this date.
3. All students are required to complete a consent, medical and dietary form. These forms need to be completed online and the process to complete these forms is outlined on the letter provided by Camp Somerset.
4. All forms need to be completed by Friday 29 June. Hard copies of both the completed Medical and signed Consent form need to be handed into the Wellbeing Centre. (Available as downloads below.)
