From the Development and Fundraising Manager, Rebecca Curran
There is much happening in 2017 and definitely more opportunities for the Waverley College community to connect with each other.
Waverley College Parents’ Association Welcome Cocktails
The Waverley College Parents’ Association Welcome Cocktails was well attended and I would like to thank Greg Bodkin, Kathy Davies, Tina Fragias, Michael Jaeger, Hayley O’Sullivan and Linda McGuiggan for all their efforts in putting together a fantastic event.
We were lucky to have an impromptu performance from professional singer and Year 7 parent, Cristina Capponi which was very well received.
Based on the feedback, the gym was a spectacular setting for the evening and we are looking forward to many more events in this space.
Thank you to all those parents who approached me about helping out with our major fundraiser for the year, The Waverley College Blue & Gold Ball. If anyone else is interested please contact me on firstname.lastname@example.org or 9369 0753. We will be getting together soon to brainstorm so watch this space!
Spirituality Evening – Wednesday 15 March
6-8.30pm, Waverley College Senior Library
“Religion. Why Bother?!”
How often do you talk to your son about spirituality? Do you even know what he thinks about it?
Challenge yourselves at an evening of frank discussion with special guest speakers:
- Matt King – Australian former professional rugby league footballer
- Brother Robert O’Connor FMS – Spiritual Director and Consultant at Marist Brothers
- Father Bernie Thomas ofm – Parish priest at Mary Immaculate Church, Waverley
- Patricia Thomas – Bereavement Consultant at Catholic Cemeteries & Crematoria
Our Director of Mission, Mr Phil Davis encourages members of the College community to attend an evening where issues of faith and belief will be discussed.
Refreshments will be served on the night.
Feel free to call or email me about any of the above and I look forward to seeing you all this year!
