Football: Final round to go

From the Convenor of Football, Stephen Wilmot

Round 9 V Barker

Last weekend our teams faced the tough Barker teams with our Year 7, 10 and Opens playing at Queens Park. With many teams playing to keep their place on the table, the Waverley teams went in strong. The 1st XI had an unlucky 2-1 defeat with Dom Abruzesse scoring the goal. The 2nd XI had finished with a 2-1 defeat as well. Other great results were the 7As with a 5-0 win, keeping them in 1st place tied with Trinity, making this weekend a premiership game for them. We also had our 8Bs win 1-0, 7Cs win 4-1, 7Ds win 3-2 and also had a lot of draws over the weekend.

Round 10 v Trinity

This weekend is our final home game against Trinity and is ‘Back to Waverley Day’. As mentioned above it will be a premiership game for the 7As who will be playing at 3pm on QP2. As it is ‘Back to Waverley Day’, it would be great to get a big crowd to support the 1st XI who will be playing their final game of the season on QP1 at 10.15am.
