Round 9 V Trinity
Last weekend our teams faced the tough Trinity teams with many teams playing on a synthetic field for the first time. This finished up with the 1sts and 2nds having a 1-0 loss.
The 1st XI were ready after their win last week to face Trinity and get another 3 points to keep themselves in the running for the premiership. After going into half time with a 1-0 lead, Trinity came back into the second half fighting and scored a goal. With the tension building on the bench for Waverley to score another goal, a cheer erupted on the sideline as Jack Henderson scored a goal. The 1sts won the game 2-1 with goals from Jack Hardwicke-Owen and Jack Henderson. This leaves Waverley 2 points behind Knox on the table making this weekend a premiership battle.
Round 10 v Knox
This weekend is our final home game against Knox and is Back to Queens Park day. With the 1st XI playing for the premiership, we would like to get as many supporters at Queens Park as possible to help cheer the boys on. The game kicks off at 10.15am on QP2. Please come down and support the boys in blue and gold battle it out for the CAS premiership.
If the 1st XI get the win, it will be the first time since 2009 that Waverley will take out the Premiership. I look forward to meeting plenty of parents and players down at Queens Park on Saturday.
