From the Head Librarian, Bill Roberts
During our recent Mentor interviews, parents were particularly keen to know which books would be of interest to their sons in Years 8 and 9, so here is a list that will tempt even reluctant readers in this age group.
The number one book for students over the last few years at Waverley College has been the ‘Cherub’ series by Robert Muchamore and the list below recommends other similar titles.
So if you enjoyed the young adult spy novels of ‘Cherub’ series , you might like these …
- Artemis Fowl by Eoin Colfer
- The Dead series by Charlie Higson
- Ranger’s Apprentice by John Flanagan
- Gone series by Michael Grant
- The Power of Five series by Pittacus Lore
- Boy Soldier by Andy McNab
- Tomorrow series by John Marsden
- I.Q. series by Roland Smith
- Young Bond series by Charlie Higson
