CAS Selection – Mac Jenkins and Ben Donaldson

With two rounds of Cricket remaining, all Waverley teams will be looking to finish the season really strongly, and continue their skill development. Great news has just arrived from the CAS Selection table, with both Mac Jenkins and Ben Donaldson from the 1st XI selected in the CAS team for the NSW Schoolboys Carnival next week – so we congratulate them and wish them well.

Our games against Trinity

Many games were sadly washed out last week, though a number of games hosted by Trinity went ahead. It was fantastic to hear these Waverley teams embracing the subtle challenges that playing in greasy conditions brings, and these are great learning experiences in these testing conditions. The 8Cs however loved the wet, having an 115-run victory, after Ed Sullivan blazed a dominant 75 not out in a huge total of 2/159.

The 7Bs remain undefeated in a 3 run thriller, bowling out trinity for 85 in the final over. Thomas Walker bowled especially well in taking wickets and building pressure. Zachary Conacher-Smith took a great 5 wicket haul in the 2nd XI match, while Sam Markert captured 3/12 in the 9Bs and the 10As were left wishing they just had another 30 runs on the board after bowling well to have Trinity deep in trouble.

Cricket Presentation Evening

The Cricket Presentation Evening will be a twilight Sausage Sizzle and plenty of games, trivia and Cricket awards from each side from both our Junior and Senior Schools.

It is from 7pm on Saturday 11 March, in the Performing Arts Centre, and all boys and their families are warmly invited by the Cricket Supporter Group. Please see the flyer and link included in this bulletin for details, with tickets $10 per person and able to be purchased via a link in the Events section of the Waverley College Website or CLICK HERE to be taken direct to the Trybookings page. This will be a fantastic way to celebrate the achievements and friendships from the season, and there is a MONSTER RAFFLE to be drawn on the night, with an array of fantastic prizes.
