Has Your Year 11 Son Nominated His Community Service Placement?

King Manu reading to Year 1 students at Jarjum College, Redfern on Indigenous Literacy Day in 2020

Our Year 11 Service Learning program endeavours to provide students with meaningful volunteer experiences and opportunities, where they are able to witness first-hand the transforming power of being able to make a difference to the lives of another individual in need.

Serving the community and Social Justice is at the heart of our College, and we are pleased to again offer this to our Year 11 students this year.

All Year 11 students are required to nominate two community volunteer placements. They attend in a volunteer capacity once per week over a three-week period. Students are reminded to check the conditions required for volunteers at their organisation prior to attending, such as registering online, wearing a face mask or being fully vaccinated.

If your son does not have a placement as yet, could you please remind him to add his name to any of the organisations below, on the ‘Year 11 Sign Up Community Service’ spreadsheet which he already has access to.

This year we thank our partner organisations who are able to support our students:

  • Matthew Talbot Hostel
  • Our Big Kitchen
  • Windgap Disability
  • Wairoa School
  • Jarjum College
  • Bondi Public School
  • Switch Dance
  • Waverley War Memorial Hospital
