Prayer for the Week

Last Saturday 25th March we celebrated the Feast of the Annunciation. This feast recalls a story of how the angel of the Lord appeared to Mary to tell her that she would have a child named Jesus. Let us pray to Mary, who faced many hard decisions in her lifetime but had no hesitation in saying ‘Yes’ to God.

Lord Jesus,

You bring us hope.
 You came to save.
You gave your life for us. Beginning in your incarnation.
 Living simply and simply living.

Teaching and healing. Rebuking and cajoling.

Dying and rising.

In you we meet God’s love face to face.
In you we see the grace of God. In you we grasp the depth of God’s compassion.

In you we know God is for us and no one can be against us.

Lord Jesus, we are your people.
May we be found in you again.

Of you we ask.

Amen.

Let us pray the Hail Mary together.

Term 2

It’s hard to believe that the first term is nearly over. The boys have been working hard and have settled into a very positive routine.  A reminder that all boys return to school in their full winter uniform which includes the school coat. Please note all uniform requirements are available at the Uniform Shop located on Level 3 of the Main Building at the Senior School.

Laptops

It has come to my attention that some boys are not in the habit of backing up their laptops. I would ask they develop the habit of doing the following three things each night with their laptop:

  1. Backup important files and folders to their Google drive
  2. Restart
  3. Recharge

It would be appreciated if parents could assist us in getting the boys into this habit.

Parent/Student/Teacher Interviews

A reminder that Wednesday April 26 next term has been set aside for Parent/Student/Teacher Interviews. Parents should have received a Skoolbag App notification explaining how to book online. If there are any problems please contact Mrs Coupe before the end of the week.

Special Mention

Congratulations to Lucas Young who competed for IPSHA at the CIS Swimming Championships.

Lucas’s hard work has paid off and he will now compete for CIS in the upcoming PSSA Swimming Championships – another super effort Lucas.

Fundraising

One thing I know about our Waverley boys is that they are incredibly generous. Over the past few weeks the boys have been active with their Lenten pledges and raffle sales. The boys are raised almost $1200 through their pledges and $300 through the raffle.

Special mention to all the boys helping out with the raffle – very much appreciated.

Performing Arts

The Junior School highly values our performing arts program and Mrs Rollins consistently ensures that the boys have an amazing experience in all the groups on offer to the students.

Congratulations to the following boys who have been selected in the Stomp group– very much looking forward to your performances throughout the year.

Stomp – Jake Perks, Jack Smith, Rhys Vaughn, Bert Cottell, Carter Hjorring, Thomas Holroyd, William Perkins, Zac Trosti, Stan Wilson, Alistair Isaac, Jackson Macaulay, Conor Andrews, Jesse Lucantonio, Gabe Fox, Sean Govender, Oliver Radcliffe
