Co-curriculum

Last week of Summer Sport

From the Director of Co-curriculum, Stephen O’Donnell

We have already reached the last week of summer sport this weekend and immediately commence our winter program next week. This term has been challenging thus far with the weather extremes and we appreciate everyone’s patience with training and games.

Presentations

This Saturday also marks the presentations of water polo (2pm in the pool); basketball (5pm in the PAC) and cricket (7pm in the PAC). These are great events put on by our Supporter Groups and I hope everyone will be able to attend.

Final Round

We also have our final round against Knox and once again please note that the travel time on a Saturday in Sydney can be long to the north shore so please allow extra travel time. I also want to congratulate all of the nippers from the various clubs on their efforts at the State championships last weekend in what were very trying conditions. I wish our 1sts water polo team, in particular, all the best for this weekend’s match against rivals Newington.

Winter sport trials

Next week is a busy week with the start of winter sport trials as well as the CAS Swimming & Diving Championships. The Winter training schedule has been released and is also on the website. Please also be aware that all rugby players need a mouthguard and boots, as well as all football players needing shin-pads and boots. Those boys in the CAS swimming and diving squads will not commence their winter sport until the following week. There will also be minimal training on next Thursday due to the CAS championships.

CAS Swimming & Diving Championships

The CAS Swimming and Diving Championships on Thursday 16 March is a compulsory supporters’ event for Years 8, 10 & 11 and parents are more than welcome. Boys will leave school by 3pm and travel by bus to and from the venue. They will return to school at approximately 9.15pm. There will also be one bus that will return from Homebush to Hurstville and one bus to Maroubra. Only those students that have recorded their names for these buses will be permitted to return on them. All students will also be supplied with food for the trip. The swimming squad will then have their presentation evening in the PAC from 6pm on Friday 17 March.
