Festival of Bands
On Friday, October 25, members of the various college ensembles were treated to workshops with John Morrison, one of Australia’s leading jazz musicians. That evening the John Morrison Trio thrilled the audience with their performance as did the members of the Cliff Goodchild and Matthew Coorey Concert Bands and the Senior and Junior Jazz bands. The boys lifted to another level after being inspired by their work with professional musicians.

Congratulations to Mr Daniel Williams for his organisation of this wonderful event. Thank you to the Music staff for their assistance.

Special thank you to Keiran Kossenberg and members of the Music supporters for assistance with the barbecue and the sale of refreshments.

Studio Concert
Congratulations to the following students who performed on trumpet at the recent lunchtime studio concert:

Jay Briggs, Jameson Hinds, Sonny Mori, Lachlan Isaac, Oakley Lamb, Max Nearn, Oscar Wilson. It was great to see a number of parents attending. The boys presented a varied and polished program. Thank you to Pierre Scala for preparing the trumpet students.

Year 9 Music Recital
The Year 9 Music class delighted their parents and friends with outstanding performances last Thursday evening. Each student presented a solo work on their nominated instrument which ranged from solo guitar and voice, piano, to woodwind and brass instruments. Thank you to Ms Josephine Allan who accompanied the students on piano and well done to the following students:
Charlie Alexander, Andrew Custodia, Harry Gippel, Guy Hammerschmidt, Oscar Jang-Banning, Louis Kitto, Max Leedham, Riley Moore, Hugo Pizzol, Luke Stewart, Zachary Straker

Back to Waverley Day
Mass was held in the College Chapel for the old Waverlians to commence the annual Back to Waverley Day. It was a wonderful occasion to give thanks for their time at the College and acknowledge deceased past students. Thank you to the students who sang at the Mass and contributed to the prayerful atmosphere.

Remembrance Day
The College Cadet band continued the tradition of playing at the Remembrance Day ceremony at Waverley Park. This service to the local community is a valued tradition and very much appreciated. Thank you to Mr Chris Blenkinsopp and the students involved.
The College held its’ own ceremony and was supported by a small brass ensemble lead by Samuel Tsaousis (Year 12). The Last Post and Reveille was expertly played by Daniel McSweeney (Year 9).
