Annual Passing Out Parade and Awards Ceremony – Sunday, 16 June 2024, 11am – Centenary Quad
On Sunday 16 June, we farewell our Senior Ranks at the Annual Passing Out Parade and Awards Ceremony. This special event gives us the opportunity to recognise the amazing contribution our Year 12 cadets have made to the Unit over the past five years. With the whole Cadet Unit parading in ceremonial dress, we also recognise cadets across all Year groups who have excelled in their service to their platoons, companies, and the Unit.
All members of the Unit are required to attend Passing Out Parade, forming up at 10:30am on Sunday, 16 June in AMCU Ceremonial Dress Code 4Z.
We welcome all parents/carers to view the parade from the upper-level balconies. Please bring your coat in case of cooler weather.

Dining In Night – Sunday, 16 June 2024, 6:30pm – Waverley College Gymnasium
All Year 12 cadets and parents/carers should have received their invitation to attend this special formal military dinner to celebrate your sons and daughters as they graduate from the Waverley College Cadet Unit.

Cadet Promotions Courses
In farewelling the Year 12 senior rank, we turn our attention to developing the next leaders of the Cadet Unit at the annual Promotions Courses. Here, our dedicated and motivated young men and women come together to learn the skills they need to lead the Cadet Unit for the coming Cadet Year.
- The Junior Leadership Course (JLC) is for those wishing to become a Corporal.
- The Senior Leadership Course (SLC) is for corporals to become a Sergeant or Warrant Officer Class 2.
- The Cadet Under Officers’ Course is open to Sergeants or Warrant Officers.
The courses are run concurrently from Monday, 15 July – Saturday, 20 July 2024 at Winbourne Conference Centre, Mulgoa. Attendance is a requirement of promotion so please keep these dates free.
For those already making plans for 2025, the Promotions Courses next year will be held from Monday, 14 July – Saturday, 19 July 2025. Attendance at Promotions Courses is compulsory for all aiming to become a Sergeant, Warrant Officer or Cadet Under Officer. Please note these dates if your child is wanting to progress to these important leadership roles.
Year 9 Discontinuing Cadet Uniform Returns Weekend
Bookings are now available for those discontinuing Cadets to return all uniform and equipment on Saturday, 25 May and Sunday, 26 May 2024.

Returns are at the Q Clothing Store located behind the Grange Building. Access is easiest from the Carrington Road carpark.
Each appointment will only take five minutes, but it is important that your gear is marked off against the issue sheet, as any missing items will incur a replacement fee, charged to your school account.
We thank all our discontinuing cadets for their time in the Cadet Unit and wish them well in their future endeavours.
Year 8 Parent Information Evening
Our new Year 8 recruits commence their Cadet journey in Term 3, 2024. To learn more about this exciting new venture, we are holding a Parent Information Evening on Monday, 27 May at 6:30pm in the Performing Arts Centre. To ensure enough space for everyone, please send one parent/carer and your son.
