Following the Government’s acceptance of the recommendations from its Review of BOSTES (Board of Studies Teaching and Education Standards), from 1 January 2017 BOSTES will become the NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA). The brand is being refreshed and information, including a new logo, will be revealed shortly. The following is key information which will apply from January 2017:
- The NSW Education Standards Authority is responsible for driving improvements in student achievement.
- Education Standards establishes and monitors statewide, cross-sector quality teaching, learning, assessment and school standards
- Education Standards is focussed on monitoring quality, not compliance
