Dear Parents/ Carers and Students in Years 7-12,

All students in Years 7 and 8 should have received their stationery pack and class teachers will advise when and what materials are needed for particular lessons.

Years 9 and 10 teachers will also advise students about subject specific requirements.

In the interim, students are advised to bring writing materials: exercise books and pens, as well as their laptop, to all classes.

The same advice applies to Years 11 and 12 students.

Dear Parents/ Carers and Students in Years 7-12,

The Years 7-12 Assessment Booklets are currently going through the final checks and will be available on the College Website next week. Parents/ Carers and Students will receive an email with a direct link to the page on the College website where they will be able to download the latest version of the schedules plus other relevant information.

Students should ensure that they save a copy of the schedule on their laptop and it is recommended that they add the key dates to their College Diaries.

Year 10 boys are fast approaching their upcoming Service Week that begins on Monday, 20 November through to Friday, 24 November 2023. We have over 200 students who will be representing Waverley College and actively involved in volunteering in their local community.

Students have elected to spend their service helping out in a wide variety of community services and not-for-profit organisations, working alongside the disadvantaged, elderly, disabled, children and family support services.

Just a selection of these services include; Thread Together, Re-love, Matthew Talbot Hostel, Illowra Aged Care, Ronald Coleman Lodge, Our Big Kitchen, the Exodus Foundation, Windgap Foundation, The Salvation Army and St Vincent de Paul charity stores, St Gabriel’s School, Jarjum College and numerous preschools and primary schools in the local area and further afield across Sydney.

Students are expected to wear their school sports uniform unless otherwise stated. All students will be making their own way to their placement and will make their own way home again. Service hours each day will vary depending on each organisation and teachers are allocated to check on students throughout the week.

*If for any reason your son cannot attend, is sick or absent on any day, please inform the College and also contact his organisation that morning.

We look forward to all students enjoying a very memorable Service Week, making a contribution to their community, in addition to their own personal growth and learning.

We will place marked crates for book returns:

Book hire will of course be open as well, with the opening hours noted below:

Monday to Friday – 8am-4pm.

All textbooks are due back Friday, 17 November 2023, especially since their classes conclude this week.

My apologies for the tight turnaround, however we want to ensure that the students have access to their textbooks for their exam studies.

Wishing our Year 10 students the best of luck in the exams!

Thank you for all your help :)

Waverley College welcomes auditions from boys in Year 9 (2024) upwards for Tartuffe (the Hypocrite) by Moliére, being performed in 2024 at the PAC!

The Plot : Orgon is the man who has everything. Money, power, a beautiful family. But lately he’s been questioning the point of it all. When he invites Tartuffe into his perfect household, he unleashes a whirlwind of deception and seduction that threatens everything.

With Orgon under Tartuffe’s spell, can his family outwit this charismatic trickster? Are Tartuffe’s wild claims truth or fiction? Is this mysterious stranger the villain he appears?
Updated to a 1980s setting, this new version of Moliére’s comic masterpiece looks at the lengths we go to find meaning – and what happens when we find chaos instead!

Tartuffe will be performed from Tuesday, 18 June – Thursday, 20 June 2024 with rehearsals starting in Term 1 2024.

Please note that we are after boys from Year 9 upwards for this particular play, as it’s the last chance for some of our senior boys to shine in a Waverley production. Younger boys will get a chance to audition next year for a 2025 school musical to be performed at the NIDA theatre.
