As we are well into Term 2, with a myriad of assignments well underway and preparations for the upcoming Trial and HSC exams already starting to take off, the senior library team have given the HSC resources section a much needed ‘face-lift’!
After looking at how to make the section more user friendly, in consultation with last year’s Year 12 students, we found that simple subject signage, instead of the traditional dewey system signs, would be easier to navigate.
Students are now able to see exactly where the study guides and past exam papers are for their selected subjects and in the case of Mathematics and English, sorted by strand as well, ensuring that they can find their chosen resources easier and quicker, with a few students saying that it is much more ‘practical’ and more ‘user friendly’ :)
We are constantly updating the section, adding new study resources regularly and we are always open to any recommendations!
We hope that this ‘revitalised’ resource section is of greater help for our senior students, with many borrowings ahead!

Dear Parents and Carers
Selected Year 11 English students require parent/carer permission for an excursion to the NESA Sydney Writers’ Festival at Carriageworks, Eveleigh.
This is an all day event offsite on Wednesday, 22 May 2024.
Please provide permission via the Parent Portal.
This Term Elevate Education delivers high-impact workshops to our students that help to develop their study skills, motivation, and exam preparation. Over the Term, you are invited to join their parent webinar series, where you can help support your child at home by reinforcing the skills they are learning at school.
Elevate Education’s free webinars for Term 2 will take place on the following Wednesdays:
Parents learn how to help their child revise effectively, prioritise high-impact work, and build good routines in the run up to exams.
Parents learn how to help their child manage stress and anxiety during exams, and how they can maximise marks in the exam room.
Parents can ask the Elevate study skills experts any burning questions in the run-up to exams. This is a great opportunity to ask any questions you feel have been unanswered by Elevate in their webinars so far, whether that relates to your child’s study space, their motivation levels or the way they study.
Register for the series by clicking HERE.
The National Art School Workshop for Waverley College Year 11 Visual Design class, will include a wheel throwing Ceramics workshop facilitated by experienced National Art School artists.
This Ceramics wheel thrown pottery workshop will experiment with techniques of forming tableware (cups, bowls and plates). Students learn how to throw pots with a strong architectural form to create objects of simplicity and beauty.
Students will be creating two/three pieces of work which can potentially be a part of this assessment submission.
Students are to wear their PE Sports Uniform and bring a towel with them – preferably an old towel.
Permission notes need to be completed by 13 May on the Parent Portal.
The break presents an opportunity for students to consolidate their study notes and prepare for assessment tasks in Term 2.
Students are encouraged to use this time wisely to balance study, leisure and exercise, to maintain their wellbeing.
Please find below useful study guides and planners for the break, which include valuable tips, resources and details of the Study Skills website.

Interviews on both of these days will take place between 8:30am and 6:30pm.
All interviews will be held via Zoom.
IT have provided a video on how to set up a Zoom Meeting. You can view this video HERE.
