Years 7 to 12 Parent/Teacher/Student Interviews: 29 and 30 April 2024

Interviews on both of these days will take place between 8:30am and 6:30pm.

All interviews will be held via Zoom.

IT have provided a video on how to set up a Zoom Meeting. You can view this video HERE.

How to Book Your Interview

Bookings for these interviews can be made through the Parent Lounge in TASS.

Bookings opened on Tuesday, 2 April at 9am and will close on Friday, 26 April at 3:30pm.

There will be no classes or sport training for any Senior School students on either of these days.

A list of Zoom account numbers will be sent by IT to all parents/carers prior to the interview dates. This will usually be a day or two before the interviews. You do not need the Zoom code to make your bookings.

In order to have staff available to as many families as possible, interviews will be of five minutes’ duration.

To make the process as efficient as possible and to minimise lost time, we ask that you don’t make consecutive bookings and leave at least a five minute gap between your bookings to allow time to move between meetings with the teachers.

Ms M. Cooper

At times, all students benefit from additional teacher support to consolidate classroom content and skills, particularly in the lead up to assessments. During Term time, we have the following supports available via our co-curricular program, run by expert teachers.

Dear Parents/ Carers and Students in Years 7 – 8,

Our Years 7 and 8 Enrichment Classes are stand-alone curriculum programs that seek to extend students beyond the standard curriculum who exhibit learner readiness for additional challenges. Student placement in these classes are reviewed each Semester based on academic performance, classroom application and classroom engagement.

We use the TrackOne data system to triangulate quantitative and qualitative data to identify the top 52 students of the cohort. This comprehensive identification process is only available to us at the end of each Semester, once report and assessment data is available. Until this point, we encourage parents/carers to monitor their child’s progress through assessment data, available in the TASS Parent Lounge Analytic Dashboard and on CANVAS.

Our first round of the CSDA (Catholic Schools' Debating Association) competition against Marcellin College was highly successful, seeing wins across both junior and senior teams. Dear Parents/ Carers and Students in Years 7-12,

All students in Years 7 and 8 should have received their stationery pack and class teachers will advise when and what materials are needed for particular lessons.

The same advice applies to Years 11 and 12 students.

*Please note that any outstanding textbooks will unfortunately have to be charged at the end of the year for a replacement copy, therefore if you have any questions at all, feel free to contact me by sending an email to bookhire@waverley.nsw.edu.au

Lastly, a very big thank you to all students who have already returned their books and wishing everyone the loveliest Christmas holidays spent surrounded by your loved ones :)

With all the exams and now the camp done and dusted for the year, it is the time of year where I ask students to return all their textbooks and English novels.

Please ensure that they bring the aforementioned books to school next week, especially since we have a returns schedule in place where each class comes down to Book Hire, that would be wonderful.

If they are away on that scheduled day, do not fret, as they are always welcome to drop the books off to Book Hire when back or leave their books in the marked green crates in the library or main reception.

*Book Hire operating hours until the end of the school year are Monday-Friday 8am-4pm.

Thank you for all your help with the return process and any questions, please don’t hesitate to email bookhire@waverley.nsw.edu.au

Waverley College welcomes auditions from boys in Year 9 (2024) upwards for Tartuffe (the Hypocrite) by Moliére, being performed in 2024 at the PAC!

The Plot : Orgon is the man who has everything. Money, power, a beautiful family. But lately he’s been questioning the point of it all. When he invites Tartuffe into his perfect household, he unleashes a whirlwind of deception and seduction that threatens everything.

With Orgon under Tartuffe’s spell, can his family outwit this charismatic trickster? Are Tartuffe’s wild claims truth or fiction? Is this mysterious stranger the villain he appears?
Updated to a 1980s setting, this new version of Moliére’s comic masterpiece looks at the lengths we go to find meaning – and what happens when we find chaos instead!

Tartuffe will be performed from Tuesday, 18 June – Thursday, 20 June 2024 with rehearsals starting in Term 1 2024.

Please note that we are after boys from Year 9 upwards for this particular play, as it’s the last chance for some of our senior boys to shine in a Waverley production. Younger boys will get a chance to audition next year for a 2025 school musical to be performed at the NIDA theatre.

The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award continues at the College, with many students on track towards completing their Bronze, Silver and Gold Awards respectively.

Compulsory lunchtime meetings are currently being held for all students involved with the Award. Boys in Year 8 are invited to attend these meetings along with any other students who would like to express their interest.

Paramount to the Duke of Edinburgh International Award, is individual ownership and responsibility towards achieving goals in a skill, physical activity and voluntary service. The onus will be on the gentlemen to ensure they are meeting the expectations and demands associated with completing their Award, utilising the many resources available to them through the College.

Lunchtime Meetings

Please take note of a change of venue for lunchtime meetings, with HSC exams now taking place in the Fitzgerald Room.
