Book Hire Textbook Return Process 2021

Students in Year 8 need to return their texts to the Book Hire office during Week 8, once their Semester 2 tasks are completed.

These books need to be returned during the dates scheduled below, to ensure that the return is COVID-safe. Students should ensure that they have their books in their lockers ready to return on their scheduled date.

Books to Return

If a student is absent during the scheduled period, they must make arrangements to return their books as soon as possible.

Book Hire Opening Hours

Monday–Thursday

Students who need to return books outside of these times, may use the returns crate, which will be located at the entrance to the Library.

All books must be returned by Monday, 29 November.

If you have any questions, please contact Ms Nikki Pearce on 02 9369 0636 or npearce@waverley.nsw.edu.au

On Monday 22, Tuesday 23 and Wednesday 24 November, Year 8 will be issued with their new Student MacBook. At the same time they will also be returning devices or having them released if they are being purchased.

Students were emailed on 1 November with their appointment times and the room they should attend. If they are returning a laptop, it must be returned with the Apple power adapter to avoid any additional charges. Students should also ensure they have backed up any important files from the old unit, as once returned files will not be able to be recovered. Google Drive should be used for this purpose ahead of the appointment time.

Purchased devices will be released by iAssist Staff and from that point should not be used in school.

To assist all students in their return to face-to-face learning this term, Heads of Department and their teams have carefully reviewed the assessment task programs for students in Years 7-10 in accordance with NESA guidelines. Students were scheduled to sit examinations in Weeks 5-6, but this has now been adjusted with the following considerations:

Please rest assured that Heads of Department have also worked with each other to ensure a balance across the expectations for tasks due in the same week.

Students should reach out to their teachers, Heads of Department or Heads of House if they need any support with the assessments that are due.

Thank you to all the parents who took advantage of the Recruit Uniform and Equipment Issue over the holidays. It certainly helped to get some of this stock out to the students in preparation for our return.

I would encourage any Year 8 parents yet to complete the Google Form with their son’s measurements, to do so by Friday 8 October, so we can package up their gear with minimal handling of uniform.

 >>> Click here to complete the Google form with your son’s measurements.

Uniform and gear will be issued over the next two weekends:

provided we follow these COVID-safe guidelines:

This system worked really well in the holidays. Your sons now have such a short time left in the Unit before AFX. It would be great for them to have their uniform and equipment to be able to take every advantage of this unique experience.

COVID-19 lockdown has impacted our newest recruits in so many ways, and we are so thrilled that they have engaged with the program as well as they have in Term 3. This has been further complicated by their lack of uniform and equipment.

In order to address this, and to minimise handling of uniform through the usual fitting process, could I please ask parents to open the below Google Form and enter the requested measurements for their son?

>>> Click here to enter the requested measurements for your son on the Google form.

Cadet gear will then be bagged up for individual issue and collection in November when we are back on Campus.

Thank you for your cooperation.
