Senior Retreat – a time for reflection

Reconciliation Ceremony

Reconciliation Ceremony

From the Director of Mission, Phil Davis

Last week, all Year 12 students enjoyed the experience of the Senior Retreat. The Senior students attended either the Kiah Ridge Christian Conference Centre, Tahmoor, or the Lutanda Centre at Yarramundi near Richmond.

Using games, activities, large group input, small group processing and liturgy, the Retreat program saw students reflect on self, family, peers, relationships, spirituality and their connection with God. The students are to be commended for their excellent cooperation during their Retreat. Staff commented that these Retreats were the best for student participation in all aspects in recent memory.

I sincerely thank the following staff who gave of their time to facilitate the Retreat Program.

Kiah Ridge: Mr Barr (Supervisor), Mr McCoy (Presenter), Mr Balkizas, Ms Brown, Ms Cullen, Ms Kite, Ms Knowles, Mr McCallum, Mr Moylette, Mr Spargo, Ms Stewart

Yarramundi: Ms O’Sullivan (Supervisor), Ms Attard, Ms Bayliss, Mr Hillman, Ms Jones, Mr Reidy, Mr Mosna, Ms Porter and Ms Ryan.

Student Comments

Worthwhile Retreat! Great to reflect on what is going on in our lives.

Great Retreat. I learnt a lot about myself and others in my group.

Overall, this Retreat was amazing and provided me with lifelong memories. Everything was excellent and I really enjoyed the whole experience.

The Retreat was a very good experience that I think will benefit the cohort a lot.

Good to talk with others and hear others’ hurts and experiences. Getting to know people I didn’t really know.

The Retreat made me closer to people I wouldn’t normally talk to and it helped me understand more about their lives.
