Students learn about Judaism and Anglicanism

St Mary's Anglican Church, Waverley

From Religious Education teacher, Karen Jones

Last Friday, 28 April, the Year 10 Religious Education class had the opportunity to hear a talk on Judaism.

Mrs Suzanne Green of the NSW Jewish Board of Deputies was invited to visit Waverley College and share with the class many aspects on Judaism such as culture, food, festivals, current demography and contributions to Australia. The students were clearly engaged and inspired to ask meaningful and insightful questions which added to the whole discussion.

It was all relevant to their current study “Ecumenism and Interfaith Dialogue”.

This week the class will walk over to St. Mary’s Anglican Church to have a tour and introduction to this denomination as well, thus helping to make their experience of Religious Education real and living here at school.
