The 2017 Waterford Concert Band Play Their First Performance at the Waterford Campus

Last Thursday, the Waterford Concert Band gave their first performance of 2017 at the Junior School Assembly. We spent much of the Thursday morning rehearsal making sure the Band would actually fit on the stage and secondly, that the boys, musical instruments, piano and percussion were also safe on stage in the Cliff Goodchild Auditorium. The Waterford Concert Band has been growing noticeably year after year but this year we will top 40 members.

The Band, which is a combination of year 5 and 6, worked extremely well on stage with the older members watching after the Year 5 students, who had not been in performance with the Waterford Concert Band until that day. The band commenced the assembly, playing Advance Australia Fair, and followed with Trumpet Hero by Paul Lavender, which featured the trumpet section as soloists.

Well done to the Waterford Concert Band for a wonderful and successful performance.
