Year 9 Duke of Edinburgh Camp Preparation 4th September

The Year 9 students will be setting off to Somerset on the beautiful Colo River on the 4th September for camp. Duke of Edinburgh students will be completing their Practice and Qualifying Adventurous Journeys on this camp under the expert guidance of the Somerset leaders.

This expedition will require students to carry their food, shelter and clothing for four days and also navigate themselves through National Park. Prior to camp, the Duke of Edinburgh students are required to attend an information evening to prepare for the challenges ahead of them!

At the meeting students will meet with their camp leaders and work on the following skills:

  • Map reading
  • Navigation
  • Route planning
  • Bush safety
  • Packing requirements

The Year 9 Duke of Edinburgh Camp Preparation evening details are as follows:

Date: Monday, 27th August 2018

Time: 3.30 – 6.30pm

Location: PAC

Bring: Water, snack, pen, notebook

Dress: School uniform
