Waverley College played Barker in a tough round of activities last weekend. There were some pleasing results as well as a last second heartbreaking loss in the 1st XV Rugby.
We still have two more rounds of sport and Debating continuing for a few more weeks to complete their CAS rounds.
Students in Year 12 who commence their Trial HSC Examinations next week are still expected fulfil their final week of co-curricular commitments and we have a couple of key rounds against Knox and then Trinity to determine a number of premierships.
Well done to James Peate and his efforts in representing NSW and Waverley College at the National Public Speaking Championships in Hobart on the weekend. Whilst James did not secure the victory we are extremely proud of his performance and know he will give it another almighty shake next year.
Well done also to Roman Leilua and Charlie Grant on their selections over the weekend in the U16 Gen Blue Rugby squad. This is a high performance group and both of these students have demonstrated the commitments and aptitude required to be selected at this level.
We also have a handful of students competing this weekend at the National Pool Rescue Championships in Queensland. Best wishes to Jacob Roorda, Owen Roorda, and Ryan McNamara for their events.
A reminder to any student in Years 7-11 that if they wish to apply for a change in their summer activities, this needs to be completed by the end of next week. We are offering golf as a new activity and applicants will be assessed on their handicap and golfing experience for this new inter-school sport.
We also have a number of presentation evenings coming up and invite all members of the College community to come and share the celebrations of a successful winter season.
