From the Director of Junior School, Anthony Banboukjian
Prayer of the Week
This Sunday we celebrate Father’s Day. This can be a difficult time for some of us in our community for many reasons, therefore as we say our prayer this week we remember the love that God has for all of us, his children.
Heavenly Father,
Bless every father in our world this week. Help them feel for your guidance and wisdom within their own minds.
Bless them with confidence through the many obstacles they overcome as they attempt to provide for their families.
Give them the courage to gather their families close, even through the clamours and social pressures of our world today, that each of their children might know that they are loved, that they are of great worth to you, and that they have a special mission to perform while here on earth.
Bless all fathers to feel your love and fill them with the confidence that you are with them and you will guide them as they seek your will, that they might be examples of faith and trust in you to their families.
Lead them through every storm that they may face.
Amen.

Prayers
I would ask you to keep the Curotta family in your prayers and thoughts with passing away of Ivan Curotta. Ivan was a passionate Old Boy who actively supported the College especially the Junior School for many years.

Hopefully your son has started his effort to raise money for our annual walkathon. This year we have decided to assist a number of different charities.

Father’s Day Mass and Lunch
A reminder that our Father’s and Grandfather’s Mass will be held this Friday September 1 commencing at 12pm at Mary Immaculate Church.
Special thanks to Mr Stephen Ghattas for all his hard work organising what I’m sure will be a very special occasion for the boys and their dads and grand dads
Congratulations
Well done to Lucas Young from Year 6 who was part of the CIS Rugby team that won the PSSA Rugby tournament last week – a fantastic effort.
Year 5 Camp
All parents of boys in Year Five should have received via their email information and forms relating to the camp in term four. It would be appreciated if you could return the medical forms by the end next week. The requested letters are due by the end of the term. If you did not receive any information or have misplaced the forms please contact Mrs Coupe on her email address acoupe@waverley.nsw.edu.au as soon as possible.
Waterford Concert Band
The Waterford Concert Band was awarded Gold for their performance at Sir John Clancy Auditorium on the campus of University of New South Wales over the weekend. This young band had to present a hymn or slow melody, with at least one piece by an Australian composer and one own choice.
The boys were excited to be at the university and playing for such an appreciative audience.
A terrific result for all the boys involved and a big thanks to Mr Williams and Mrs Pinter for their hard work with the Waterford Concert Band throughout the year.
Walkathon Update
Special mention goes to Tristan Lee from 5 White who has already raised over $4000 by himself for our walkathon. Tristan your efforts are greatly appreciated – well done.
Name on all student property
Can I please stress the need to ensure your son has his name on all his gear – it makes it far easier to return any lost gear.
Photos
If anyone has photos from Saturday sport or any other Waverley College event that they would like to share with the rest of the College community could I ask you to send them in on a disk or memory stick to the Junior School office.
