Late change: our sincerest apologies, the 9/10B AFL game at Riverview tomorrow has been changed to 3.10pm.

Welcome back to Term 2 and the start of the full winter co-curricular program with a full round of activities this weekend. We are hosting Newington in Rugby and Football, Volleyball, AFL and Tennis are all away against Knox and SBHS.

A huge thank you to all of the coaches and staff that contributed to our various holiday programs for AFL, Football, Volleyball and Rugby. Special mention of the 1st XI Football who were plate winners in the St Andrew’s Cup (3rd place).

I want to also thank all of the students who gave up many hours of their holidays to continue training and especially the 1st XV, 2nd XV and 16A Rugby players, coaches and parents who travelled to St Edmund’s College, Canberra last Saturday with all teams having successful matches. Not only was the Rugby of a high standard, but also the camaraderie formed by the students on the trip down and back. The camaraderie is one of the best parts of these sorts of trips.

We also had successful individuals competing in various tournaments including Roger Sweeney winning the U16 Boys Singles Tennis Open Gardens in Darwin; and Ehren Little, Tristan Lee, Aidan Lee, Lincoln Tanner and Archie Godby all medalling and competing at the NSW Water Polo championships. We have a number of students also competing at the Australian surf lifesaving titles this weekend and we wish them all the best.

With an interrupted end to the term due to the weather, we are still finalising teams and we will be reselecting teams based on performances against opposition over the next couple of weeks. We thank all players and parents for their patience with this.

I also want to take this opportunity to remind all students, parents and spectators of the CAS Codes of Conduct: as well as COVID-19 protocols still applying to all school sporting venues. Ultimately we need to ensure we are representing the College to the highest standards with our behaviour, presentation and language, and always respecting officials and all members of the opposition.

Good luck to all teams and activities this weekend and ‘Go the Waves!’
